As usual, UCP is adopting about forty extremely low income clients and their families for the Holidays. We assist over 5,500 children and adults with all types of disabilities and their families a year, 70% of them living below the poverty level and mostly because of medical and caregiver issues. As you can imagine the need is great. Because we do not have adequate staff to manage specific adoptions, our staff nominates the families and our Development Department coordinates.
As a result, we ask that corporations do specific drives for us to help us subsidize the family adoption or specifically adopt a client/family.
We would love it if you were able to participate! We are very much needing new warm pajamas (as most of our clients don’t have adequate heating), bedding, blankets, coats, shoes, toys and clothing. Be assured that after the process is over, you will receive personalized thank you notes from the beneficiaries and be featured in listings in our newsletter and website and contributors.
