Therapy

Toy / Tech is a unique resource and lending library for children with cerebral palsy and other disabilities ages birth to seven years and their parents.  Toy / Tech is equipped with trained individuals who can evaluate a child's need and teach parents how to use specialized and adapted toys effectively to help their children develop.  The purpose of Toy / Tech is to make accessible toys that have been specifically selected or adapted to meet the unique needs of children with any type of developmental delay or disability so they can benefit from the enrichment of play.

In addition, Toy / Tech provides parents with helpful information about special needs children and the importance of family play in helping a child reach his/her full potential.  Other critical components of Toy / Tech include educating parents on the use of conventional and adapted toys and supporting families by helping them focus more on their child's abilities rather than their limitations.  The overall goal is to nurture positive play relationships between children with developmental disabilities and their families and to strengthen the bond between the child and family.
