United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston, Inc.
(UCP) is a non-profit corporation established to provide services to individuals with cerebral palsy and all other disabilities and their families. As an affiliate of United Cerebral Palsy Associations, the agency supports advocacy, public information and education, and research programs. UCP has a total operating budget of approximately $5.3 million. Approximately 50% of the budget is provided by government grants, 18% from United Way Services, and the remaining 32% is derived from public support and third party payments.

United Way of the Texas Gulf Coast HISTORY Founded in Houston in 1946, United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston, Inc. has always provided a variety of needed services to individuals with cerebral palsy and other disabilities and to their families in the five counties surrounding the Houston area. It has been the only organization in the greater Houston area providing comprehensive
services to individuals with cerebral palsy and all other types of disabilities and to their families. Originally called the Cerebral Palsy Treatment Center, the organization was started to
provide services to individuals with cerebral palsy living in Houston and Harris County. The Center served as a school and as a therapeutic service center over the years, and was
briefly called the Children's Center for Developmental Therapy. In 1989, the organization changed its name to United Cerebral Palsy of Greater Houston, Inc. and greatly expanded
